Highly intensive training can lead to physical stress conditions such as tendonitis, muscular and joint problems. Preventing injuries by correcting detrimental exercise or incorrect movement patterns under professional guidance is therefore important.

Our sessions are coached by Simona Piovanelli, physiotherapy doctor, cross fit athlete, certified functional and HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) trainer.

 

Combining her athletic experience with clinical knowledge, Simona is able to manage high intensive training sessions whilst at the same time taking extreme care of injury prevention.

 

PT sessions consist in 45 minutes functional training based on individual needs.

 

Maximization of training benefits can be obtained by combining a systemic cryotherapy session or a therapeutic massage (draining, decontracting)

Benefits of cryotherapy

 

Cryotherapy helps improve performance by stimulating the production of hormones while improving tissue oxygenation and aerobic capacity.

It facilitates faster recovery from oxidative stress and formation of Cpk (creatine phosphokinase, an enzyme that acts on the energy mechanism correlated to creatine and present in our muscles) during high-intensity training.  For this reason, many professional athletes include cryotherapy in their physical training pathways.

 

For those aiming at losing weight, systemic cryotherapy treatment typically accelerates metabolism: up to 900 kcal are burned during the first three hours after each session. At the end of those three hours the increased metabolic activity starts slowing down, though still remaining higher than basic metabolism for about three days, and therefore continuing its “fat-burning” effect.

Benefits of therapeutic massage

 

Highly intensive training leads to an increase of hematic and lymphatic activity which, besides causing a feeling of swelling in the lower limbs, may also enhance sensitivity of the most stimulated muscular areas.

 

The result? Post-training muscle pain, possibly associated with physiological microlesions of the muscle fibres (a typical cause of DOMS: Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness).

 

The massage helps relieve the muscles, draining the tissues and restoring optimal physical conditions.
